The History of Cars

Cars are mobile vehicles used to transport people and goods. They are designed to travel at high speeds over long distances and have a number of safety features. The science and technology behind cars has been evolving for over a century.

In 1908 Henry Ford introduced the Model T, which was cheaper than previous models and allowed more people to own cars. It also changed the way companies produced cars. Ford’s mass production allowed him to keep his prices down and attract customers.

Today, there are more than 1.4 billion cars in operation worldwide. Most have advanced safety features that protect passengers in case of an accident. They include seat belts, airbags and brakes. They are also equipped with speed limiters, which help maintain safe driving speeds. Some cars also have a GPS system that helps the driver stay on the right side of the road.

A number of museums are dedicated to the history of the car. The Smithsonian Institution has an extensive collection in its National Museum of American History.
