If you’re a fan of cars, you’ll be happy to hear that there are still a number of models that are built in the UK. While many of the factories may be smaller and less active, there are still a few major brands that continue to build cars here in the UK.

Some of these brands remain British through and through, while others have links to other countries or are owned by foreign companies. Some of the biggest names on the list include Aston Martin, McLaren and BMW.

Aston Martin, for instance, is proud to be a British car manufacturer. This means that all of the company’s cars are still made in Woking, Surrey, where they have their own state-of-the-art factory and technology centre.

Bentley, meanwhile, is another famous British brand that is still produced in England. Although the company is now owned by Volkswagen, it still continues to make its own super luxury cars, such as the Bentley Speed Six and 4 1/2 litre.

MINI, another well-known brand, is also manufactured in the UK. Though its Convertible and Countryman models are now made in the Netherlands, the best-selling hatchback – the Clubman – remains produced at the brand’s long-standing factory in Cowley, Oxford.

Dacia is another UK-owned car brand that is quickly gaining popularity amongst UK drivers. The firm has a reputation for providing excellent value for money, and the Sandero supermini is no exception.

Jaguar is another major name on this list, and while the brand is owned by Tata, most of the car’s production takes place in Birmingham, where they have their own manufacturing plant. There are still a few models that are made in Britain, including the F-Pace SUV and XF sedan.

Morgan is an old-school English brand that specializes in building rally and racing cars. The company mainly produces 850 models a year, so there’s always a waiting list for these special vehicles.

There are a lot of other interesting brands that have a history in the UK, and some even have a very strong connection to the country itself. For example, the iconic Morris Motors Limited was a very successful car manufacturer in its early days. The badge for the company was based on Oxford’s coat of arms, and it included a silver-blue circle with a red bull crossing it.

Aston Martin is another prestigious brand that is still made in the UK, and this includes its top-end DB series. The brand is also linked to Mercedes-AMG, so the DB11 and other luxury models are still made here in the UK too.

Rolls-Royce is another popular British brand that has a reputation for luxurious cars, and the firm’s Goodwood, West Sussex factory makes all of the luxury Dawn, Wraith, Ghost, Phantom and Cullinan models.

As well as making some of the most luxurious and opulent cars in the world, Rolls-Royce also produces some of the cheapest new vehicles on the market. The smallest model in the range is the entry-level Dawn, which has a starting price of just PS7,895.

If you’re looking for a wacky car, there are a few brands that deserve your attention. The Mills Extreme Vehicles company in Mansfield, for instance, creates replicas of the famous Locost and Eagle speedsters. This company is a great example of how a niche brand can survive and thrive despite being in the midst of a recession.
